Ida B. Wells-Barnett

The best description I can come up with for Elizabeth Cady Stanton is that she was a piece of work. She was a brilliant mind, a gifted writer, and a supremely self-centered elitist. Her take on race and immigration was problematic to say the least. For a critical view, read Elizabeth Cady Stanton: An American Life by Lori Ginzberg. Read about her life in her own words in Autobiography Eighty Years and More: Reminiscences 1815–1897
