For John Lewis

This is the final sentence in an opinion piece by the late Congressman John Lewis which was published today in the New York Times. He wrote it shortly before his death to be published on the day of his funeral.

And my John Lewis story: When I saw Black Panther, I was so taken by King T'Challa's speech that I wrote it out the next day. When I heard that John Lewis loved the movie, I sent it to him. And he sent me back this lovely note! I was so moved by his funeral service today. Such strength. Such love.

Woman's Suffrage Book Underway—You Can Help

ELIZABETH CADY STANTON

I had been thinking about doing a project to celebrate the 100th anniversary of women's suffrage in the US earlier this year. Then the pandemic hit and I forgot about it. It suddenly came to me that I wanted to do something which evolved from yesterday's idea of a postcard to today's of a book. I have a deadline as I would like to have it available by August 18th, the day the 19th Amendment was ratified. I would like to get the book uploaded to KDP for printing by the middle of next week. As you can see, time is of the essence. I would greatly benefit from your assistance.

I am looking for 20-25 quotes in all. I have quotes from Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Abby Kelley Foster, Carrie Chapman Catt, and Sarah Grimké. Shorter is better as I want the lettering to have a graphic impact. If you have suggestions, please email them to me. If you have concise biographical information about the writer/speaker, please share that too. If I use your quote, I will credit you in the book.

I look forward to hearing from you and of course, I'll let you know when the book is available for purchase in the bookstore of my website. Feel free to pass this along. Thanks so much.
