Book Arts Tuesday-Ideation Cards
I love this set of Artist Book Ideation Cards by Barb Tetenbaum and Julie Chen. My set arrived yesterday from 23 Sandy Gallery. There are two sets: categories and adjectives. You divide the categories into 7 piles: Text, Color, Image, Paper, Layout, Structure, and Technique. You choose one card from each and 5 adjective cards. Use these to start a new project or invigorate one in progress.
Purchase information from 23 Sandy Gallery.

Time and Creativity
I discovered this short film through a post on facebook by June Maffin. This film answers the question asked by Kreativ magazine:
Our clients want us to do more work in less time? How can we make them understand that for new effective ideas we need more time?
They went to the "world's most talented people," a classroom of children, and gave them this drawing to complete—
When they were given 10 seconds, the drawings were like this—
And when they were given 10 minutes they looked like this—
The lesson here is important for all of us who work with children. We need to give them more time. Teachers know it but feel helpless in the face of all the material they are required to present during the course of the day, week, and year. I don't have a solution but hope that you will share this short film. Increased awareness is a start.
