Jiro Yonezawa

The current issue of Fiberarts magazine has a great article by Nancy Moore Bess entitled Jiro Yonezawa: Traditions and Innovation. As she writes, "Mastery and experimentation are layered in this artist's life and in his bamboo forms." I first saw his work at a bamboo exhibition Nancy curated at the Fiber Art Center in Amherst, MA. My husband and I still talk longingly and lovingly about his work. the pieces we most loved were two wall pieces with cedar roots and wire woven in with the bamboo.
