Spirit Book Workshop at Rolling Ridge

I led a day-long Spirit Book Workshop yesterday at Rolling Ridge Retreat Center in North Andover, MA as part of their Day Apart Series. It was a true test of my embrace of nature in all its forms as it rained all day and we were unable to spend time on the beautiful grounds gathering materials. Luckily, it was not far from home so I was able to go the day before and assemble of collection of sticks, bark, and pine cones for our books. It is always such a wonder to be in a room filled with creative activity and to see how different and expressive each individual book is.

You can see the books we made here.

Dear Susan,

I love the earthy qualities of these books. May I ask what kind of paper was used for the cover and text pages?

Enchanted by your work.

Regards,
Linda

We used resho paper from Bhutan for the pages and there is no separate cover. I get the paper from New York Central Art Supply.
