Sheffield Mums
A new plant in the garden this fall--the Sheffield mum, Dendranthema Sheffield. I read about it in Suzy Bales's Garden Bouquets and Beyond. It blooms in late fall and as she said, makes a great cut flower. This mum has been in the window, along with the Thai basil, for about two weeks. It's especially welcome on this gray and rainy November morning. And the flowers are still blooming outside. My plant has extra meaning because I bought it at White Flower Farm just before the reception and talk for my Spirit Book exhibit at Wisdom House in Litchfield, CT which was a warm and wonderful experience.
