First Day of Christmas

Last year I posted an image for each of the twelve days of Christmas. I went a little crazy and what started as a plan to photograph some aspect of Christmas in the house became hours of play on the computer with photoshop. This year I really am just going to post photos. We were without internet access from late Christmas until just recently (third day of Christmas) so there will be three posts today.

The dinner table setting was inspired by the the wooden napkin rings which my friend Judy gave me. They were made by her niece's fiance David Wolters of Split River Designs. His main creations are beautiful cutting boards. The salad was made with persimmons brought by my mother-in-law and goat cheese balls covered with chopped walnuts. The pine cones were gathered earlier in the day in Atkinson Common.
