Thoughtful Thursday-Advice from Patti Smith

From the Louisiana Channel, an interview of Patti Smith by Christian Lund at the Louisiana Literature Festival at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art on August 24, 2012.

"Keep your name clean. Don’t make compromises, don’t worry about making a bunch of money or being successful. Be concerned about doing good work. Protect your work and if you build a good name, eventually that name will be its own currency."

And if you haven't read Patti Smith's book, Just Kids, I highly recommend it.

Yes! Just Kids was one of the most beautiful books I've read—in what she said and how she said it.
