BookCrossing describes itself as “the World’s Library,” a social networking site where books get new life. Each book that is registered with BookCrossing can be tracked as it passes from reader to reader. BookCrossing books can be released into the world in two ways: controlled, in which the book is passed on to a particular person, and wild, in which the book is put in a public place for anyone to find.
I've chosen BookCrossing as a way to reach people across the U.S. and Canada with my new book, Art Lessons: Reflections From An Artist’s Life. I love that BookCrossing uses the online world to connect people through the physical object the book and look forward to tracking the copies as they travel.
The first person from each of the 50 states and 10 provinces to contact me by email, susan at susangaylord.com, will receive a copy of Art Lessons that has been registered at BookCrossing.

What a cool idea....i'll be checking in to see if you have anyone from Washington yet....
Just checking to see what delightful thought you might be sharing, and hearing of your new book. Of course BookCrossing is such a clever idea. But wait! Harvard Book Store has a book-making robot? Ah, the East Coast is so cool......
What a terrific idea! Would love to represent Florida!
Terrie it is. Sorry Minette, FL is already taken. Thanks Diana.
do you have someone in MA already? If not, the Attleboro Library would love to participate!
PA? thanks.
Trying to reply via e-mail but that doesn't seem to be working. I'm in the Garden State... New Jersey.
