Valentine Count Up-Blog Giveaway

My transition from teaching in schools has had many aspects, one of which is passing along things that were part of that life. The supplies and materials are long gone. When sorting through my jewelry, I realized that much of my collection made from recycled objects and worn for the statement quality (look at how many amazing things can be made by reusing things) and their kid appeal were no longer what I wanted to wear. So I am offering them as a giveaway. Items are:

* pair of earrings and people pin made from soda cans

* pair of earrings made from soda cans

* pair of earrings made from paper

* 3 bracelets made from can tabs (all separate giveaways)

Leave a comment—on any subject or your favorite material for reusing in creative projects. Drawing will be made randomly. If you enter, PLEASE PLEASE put your email address in the post. If you do not, I cannot notify you and so I will automatically choose another number.

Your work is so inspiring, Susan. You are bringing the beauty of making books and calligraphy to so many people I'd be proud to have a part of your collection. I appreciate all your postings and your generous sharing of patterns and projects. -- Michele

Mahalo for your generous sharing of your talent and mana'o (thoughts and wisdom); I was inspired to make books with children because of your lessons. I am the recycle librarian of the our Public Library System - if you give me something I will figure out a craft w/ it. Tonight, adults will be making kokeshi doll bookmarks from used security envelopes and kokeshi doll notebooks from drink coasters. Fun!

This jewelry is inspiring my students to make their own creations for a service project. Thanks for all the great ideas and creative spirit! spangmarsh @ comcast.net

I too am trying to encourage my students to be good stewards of the earth. These little items are still ia good jumping off point for discussions about garbage vs art. I love how one of the earrings has the recycling symbol on it ;>. Cheers! Aiofe.outdoors@gmail.com

I am still in the classroom (kindergarten). The kindies love to make hot dog books and some do it independently for their own creations. I would love to add any of the people art to my wear!

Hello Susan,
I am an elementary art teacher in NC. We make books and many re-cycle based projects in art. Thanks so much for your postings and e-mails, and for your ability to communicate thoughtfulness and joy with everyday materials! I would love one of those bracelets! Beth
