Lammas 2014

Lammas, the first of August,
and the first day of autumn in the Celtic calendar.
There is vibrance and abundance,
but also vulnerability and tenderness
as the we mark the first quarter day after the summer solstice,
the high point of the sun's yearly cycle.

The Celtic calendar or the Wheel of the Year is divided into eighths. The first day of each season is a quarter day, the midpoint between the solstices and equinoxes. Cari Ferraro has created a card of the Wheel of the Year. See it here.
