Blog Giveaway-Feathers
I have spent the past several days reorganizing and cleaning my studio. My goal is to have it more streamlined and suited to the work I am doing now and more easily neatened up for studio visits. I'll be posting views for Studio Sunday this summer and offering occasional giveaways. The first giveaway is a box of feathers I have collected over the years. Most were gathered on walks but there are a few that came in craft packets and some are from our long departed parakeet Gershwin. Leave a comment about your favorite found art material and your email (IMPORTANT! I will have no way to get in touch with you if you don't) to be entered. The entries for the random drawing will close on Wednesday, June 24 and the winner will be announced on Thursday.

every time I find a crow feather it reminds me that magic is afoot!
I, too, collected feathers, where I lived, worked and roamed on the coast of northern California.. Then one winter I mysteriously lost my voice; doctors feared I had a tumor on or near a vocal chord. I gathered up my feathers and went to the Gualala River near my home. Please take these, I said silently to the River, in exchange for my voice, and I spread them out over the water. I believe my gift was accepted — my voice slowly returned and no tumor was found.
Andrea
The feathers will be going to Andrea Penn, who shared her beautiful story.
