Book Arts Tuesday-Book Arts at Boston Book Festival
I am thrilled to be part of a panel discussion on the Book Arts with Daniel E. Kelm, Laura Davidson, and Ruth R. Rogers at the Boston Book Festival. Here's the info:
The Book as Creative Space: Massachusetts Book Artists on Their Art and Craft
12:45PM SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24
TRINITY FORUM, 206 CLARENDON STREET
In this panel discussion, three established and internationally-collected Massachusetts book artists—Daniel E. Kelm (Easthampton), Susan Kapuscinski Gaylord (Newburyport), and Laura Davidson (Boston)—will discuss their exploration of the possibilities for innovative communication in the material book, discussing the various ways in which they blend idea and form in unique, sculptural objects that expand our sense of the possibilities for books and reading in the twenty-first century. The discussion, moderated by a major collector of the book arts, Ruth R. Rogers of Wellesley College, will be supported by images and, at the conclusion of the panel, a small show of the artists’ work. Sponsored by Massachusetts Center for the Book.
We will each do a 5 minute presentation with images on our work. Ruth will then lead a discussion on book art today. At the end there will be an opportunity to view a couple of books by each of us in person. Join us if you can.
