Studio Sunday-Keeping Track of Exhibit Possibilities
I'm trying to do a better job of keeping track of exhibits to enter, and then actually entering them. I started to write the info on small cards and pin them on my bulletin board but I rarely made my way over to look at them. I now have them on my desk in a small bowl made by Steve Ward (a gift from my friend Judy). I also write the date that entries are due on my calendar. I especially appreciate when the notification date is listed on the prospectus as it makes planning easier. I don't have that much work available so deciding what to send always involves a lot of juggling. I don't enter general shows, except for my local art association, and concentrate on exhibits of artists' books or those with a nature theme.
I've found the following sources helpful:
The Book Arts List
The Book Arts Newsletter
ArtDeadline.com
Café: callforentry.org

good idea! I put important deadlines in my diary, on the Leunig calendar and stick them on the wall just to the right of the computer screen
