The last of the oak leaves
The last of the oak leaves, mixed with bittersweet in and around the candle holder my daughter gave me, at the Thanksgiving table. Next week it will be out with the brown and in with the green. I like to bring the green in slowly, a little bit at a time. Making things and decorating with nature are two powerful ways to deal with the consumerism of the holidays.

Susan, I love this post. If you don't mind, I am going to make the last line of it into a poster and hang it in my home and my library, and offer copies to my co-workers and parents.

I'm so glad it speaks to you. Please do. And if you'd like to send me a photo, I'd love to post it. You can find my email by clicking on my profile photo. Thanks.

You inspired me to write out the words as well. And I added Make joy!
