Fourth Day of Christmas
A morning welcome on the fourth day of Christmas from the moon. This has been the solstice of the moon. We missed the lunar eclipse (clouds) but viewed a spectacularly huge moon on our drive home from the Revels in Cambridge. And now this half moon greeting me on this morning.
The Moon's the North Wind's cookie.
He bites it, day by day,
Until there's but a rim of scraps
That crumble all away.
The South Wind is a baker.
He kneads clouds in his den,
And bakes a crisp new moon that . . . greedy
North . . . Wind . . . eats . . . again!
