I'm usually not outside early in the morning. The studio beckons. But on Wednesday mornings, I take a Qi Gong class. When I was returning this morning, I noticed the rhododendrons in front of the house. The leaves, which had been looking vibrant so recently, were suddenly curled in response to the cold. I thought how much I felt like those leaves. On top of the leaves was next year's flower bud, a reminder of the cycle of the seasons and that warmth will come again.
