Studio Sunday-Callicarpa
I first saw Callicarpa, also called Beautyberry, at the Arnold Arboretum about twenty-five years ago. It's always been in the back of my mind as a shrub I'd like to have but I've never got around to finding a place for it and getting one. I was delighted to see the purple-berried branches for sale at Tendercrop Farm. I am enjoying them in the studio and in the house. They combine beautifully with bittersweet.

absolutely stunning.
The Gardener's Diary on HGTV often features homes with beauty berry and I love look of the plant. Somehow thought it was a southern or mid-Atlantic shrub, tho. If it's hardy in our zone, I will definitely consider it for next spring. We need some bright color here in drab, pre-snow Roscoe.
