I have loved this passage from Fra Giovanni's Christmas Letter since I first heard Robert J. Lurtsema read it at the Christmas Revels in the late 1970s. I used it to start the final essay in this past year's Art Lessons: Reflections From An Artist's Life. And here is a little book I made I would think in the '90s. I wish I were better at dating things. I scanned a juniper branch from the garden and then printed the text in type on tracing vellum.

I heard Robert J. Lurtsema read that at the Revels, too... I wonder if we held hands and danced to the Lord of the Dance together that year, or maybe some other year? I so love the Revels!!
Susan, it's a favorite of mine too! And as always your work is lovely. Is there anything you can do about slowing the slideshow down a little bit? There were a couple of pages that flipped before i could read them, & i couldn't read the last page at all because it prompted me to "share" immediately.

I think I slowed the slide show down a little. I went back and chose the slow option in flickr and reposted it. Hope it's better.
Thanks Mo. If I were doing it today, the printing of the text would be done with my laser printer and wouldn't be fuzzy but it's part of the book now.
Thank you, Susan. The format is still less than ideal, but i believe it is better. i feel grouchy saying this, but i want your work shown to best advantage too!

If I have more time sometime, I think I will try doing a video from the stills in imovie. Maybe for next year...
